Wayne High School students were out in full force on Wednesday night, collecting money and pledges for Wayne High School Activities.
Coordinated by the Wayne Community Schools Foundation, a Git-A-Thon is being conducted in an effort to raise money for the school and eliminate the many smaller fundraisers held by various groups and organizations.
More than $14,000 was raised in approximately one and a half hours on Wednesday.
Students are being encouraged to continue the campaign by contacting relatives and others who have supported Wayne Schools through the fundraisers in the past.
Each high school student was sent home with a fundraising sheet on Thursday and encouraged to contact people throughout the weekend and return the sheets to school on Monday.
