Glennadine Barker

Glennadine V. Barker, 86, of Wayne, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, at Providence Medical Center.

Services will be held Monday, Jan. 10 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Wayne. Visitation  will be held Sunday, Jan. 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Wayne.

Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.

Memorials may be directed to Glennadine’s family for later designation.

Glennadine Virginia Barker, was born Nov. 24, 1935 on a farm northeast of Belden to Glenn and Alice (Minegar) Roland. She attended rural schools, Belden Public School and Randolph Public School. Glennadine married Milo Eugene Barker Nov. 27, 1951 in Center.  The couple lived in Laurel before moving to Wayne in 1953. Glennadine worked at the Wayne Book Store, was employed at Ron’s Cafe, operated the Wayne Vets Club for several years, and then worked at Chartwells at Wayne State College Cafeteria for 15 years before retiring. Glennadine was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Wayne, president of the Wayne V.F.W. Auxiliary, and regularly attended the Wayne Senior Center.  She enjoyed reading, puzzles, cross word puzzles, and most of all, the time spent with her family.

Survivors include her children, David Barker of Alliance, Susan (Wayne) Denklau of Wayne, Joyce (Kelvin) Wurdeman of Wayne, Denise Barker of Scottsbluff, and Jana Barker of Scottsbluff; a sister,  Janice (Lee) Wortman  of Alliance; grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sherri;  three brothers Bob, Wayne, and Ken Roland; and five sisters, Mildred Green, Eva Taylor, Donna Downs, Mary Taylor and Judy (Lester) Meier.
