Speaking to a crowd of approximately 50 interested citizens, Gov. Pete Ricketts conducted a Town Hall meeting in Wayne on Sept. 15.
Ricketts talked about the state's budget and explained where tax dollars are spent.
"Our goal is to grow Nebraska and provide more, better paying jobs," Ricketts said.
He discussed the issue of property taxes, controlling state spending, funding to schools, transportation infrastructure and holding state agency heads responsible for their agencies.
Following Ricketts' presentation, he fielded questions from the audience, including one about the Chicago Cubs baseball team. Ricketts family owns the team and he used the question to compare managing a baseball team to managing state government.
