Wayne State offensive lineman Nick Gray has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Super Region 4 First Team as voted on by sports information directors in Super Region 4.
The Academic All-District Football Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. First Team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot with the Academic All-American Teams to be announced in mid-December.
Gray, a 6-foot-4 300-pound junior offensive lineman, maintains a 3.62 grade-point average majoring in construction management. He has started every game during his Wildcat career on the offensive line, making 11 starts his freshman season at right guard followed by started every game in the 2019 and 2021 seasons at right tackle (2020 canceled due to COVID-19).
This season, he helped lead an offensive line that blocked for the third-ranked rushing offense in the NSIC averaging 182 yards per game. Gray is a two-time NSIC All-Academic Team selection for the Wildcats.
