Troy Harder of the Wayne Country Club finished in a tie for ninth place in the Nebraska PGA Professional Championship held earlier this week at ArborLinks in Nebraska City.
Harder said he was in the hunt until the very end before bogeys on 17 and 18 in the third and final round left him with a three-day total of 219, tying him with Tony Baranowski of Shadow Ridge Country Club in ninth place.
Harder kept in contention throughout after opening with a 4-over 76 on the first day. He came back with a 1-over 73 on the second day before bogeying the final two holes to finish the final round with a 2-under par 70 and end with a 54-hole total of 219, 3-over par. He was three shots shy of a top-four finish and lost a sudden-death playoff for the final alternate spot.
