Timothy “Heath” Jarod Corbit was born on Dec. 3, 1974 in Gadsden, Alabama. He was adopted by William (Bill) and Sharon (Gunnarson) Corbit, when he was four years old.

After his mother passed in 2011, Heath and his sister Kali moved to Nixa, Missouri in 2012, to be closer to his sister, Kecia, and her family. Kecia hired Easy Living, Inc. who provided amazing care for Heath, in his home. They were truly a gift from God, taking such wonderful care of both Heath and Kali’s daily living needs.

Heath attended the Wayne special education program and graduated in 1994 with his sister, Kali. He loved to participate in Special Olympics, Night to Shine, Arc of the Ozarks activities and various activities at the Easy Living activity center. Heath was an amazing drummer with a very special group called CC Rhythm. Heath also enjoyed working at Christian County Enterprise, which is a workshop for individuals with special needs. He attended church with Kecia and her family, at Life Church in Springfield, Missouri. He loved Jesus and always prayed before each meal. He would often say, “Jesus loves and cares about me”.

Heath loved spending time with family (mostly Luke, his best friend). Heath always said, “That’s MY friend Luke” and was extremely possessive of him in such a sweet way. He loved staying overnight at Luke’s house and having a “guys night.”He was always excited to spend time with his nephews, Luke and Mark, which included watching superhero movies at the theater (Superman was his favorite), racing go carts, and always planning the next vacation with the boys, which typically included casinos, at his request.

Heath spent every holiday and birthday with his family. His birthdays typically included either a Superman or Star Trek cake. Heath loved watching Star Trek, dancing, singing karaoke, bowling, fishing, family time in the pool, French dips, cheeseburgers, Dr. Pepper, playing with tassels and his Wesley Crusher (Star Trek) figurine. He had an extensive collection of superhero and Star Trek action figures, as well as wall decorations. This past year has been very difficult for Heath. He missed Kali very much and talked about her all the time. I truly believe they are singing and dancing together in heaven.

Heath is survived by his brother, Timothy Corbit, sister, Kecia (Matthew) Roemen, nephews: Luke and Mark, Aunt Deanna Gunnarson, cousins: Lance and Christopher Corbit and their families; Robert, Traci, Brent and Brian Gamble and their families; Melanie Poppe, Todd and Brad Gunnarson and their families.

Heath was preceded in death by his parents, William (Bill) and Sharon Corbit, sister, Kali Corbit, grandparents, Joseph and Marvel Corbit, and Theodore and Ida Gunnarson, Uncle, Theodore Gunnarson, Uncle and aunt, Larry (Linda) Gamble and James (Eunice) Corbit
