The Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department (NNPHD) has announced it will open a temporary Food Bank on Monday, Nov. 3.
This Food Bank will assist those in need due to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits being on hold. It will last until SNAP is re-instated.
Those wishing to donate to the Food Bank may drop off food at the Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department's new location, 801 Milo Drive, behind Evolving Eye Care. Cash donations will go toward food vouchers for milk, eggs, meat, fresh fruits and vegetables.
Cash donation jars are being distributed throughout the community and are currently located at Pac 'N' Save and Bomgaars. Monetary donations can also be brought to the NNPHD office.
Other drop off locations in the department's four county area will be announced in coming days.
Those wishing to set up an appointment to receive food may do so by calling the office or walk-in between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
