Wayne trio shoots in triangular – Wayne High golfers competed in a triangular with Lakeview and Stanton on Tuesday, with three Blue Devils competing. Marrissa Lutt led Wayne’s golfers with a 63, Hana Nelsen shot 64 and Elizabeth Junck carded a 69. Wayne hosts the Metteer Invitational on Thursday at the Wayne Country Club.

Wayne takes care of Norfolk Catholic – Wayne took care of Norfolk Catholic in four sets, 25-13, 23-25, 25-12, 25-15. Lindsy Sandoz had 12 kills and Allison Echtenkamp had 10 for the Blue Devils. Brenna Vovos had 21 assists and Sandoz added 16. Kylie Hammer and Ashton Boyer each had two ace serves. Emily Matthes had 11 digs and Emily Armstrong added 10. Ecthenkamp had three blocks and Sandoz had two. Wayne plays in the Wisner-Pilger Invitational on Saturday.
Winside sweeps Wausa – Winside won again at home, taking a 25-15, 25-11, 25-11 win over Wausa. Alex Bartgstadt had a triple double with 10 kills, 10 assists and 19 digs, along with three blocks. Callie Finn had nine kills and 14 digs, Andi Bargstadt had eight kills, Sarah Wolfe had 12 assists and Fauneil Olander had a team-best 16 digs. Alyssa Brogren had four ace serves.
Wakefield 2-0, Allen 0-2 at triangular – Wakefield came away with two wins in a home triangular Tuesday, beating Randolph (26-24, 25-18) and Allen (25-10, 25-16). Megan Borg had six kills, Briana Andrade had four and Savannah Nelson had three in the win over Randolph. Jessica Borg had six assists, and Rachel Brudigam led the defense with 14 digs. Against Allen, Giulia Ballarini had six kills to lead the attack. Borg had nine assists and Andrade had nine digs. For Allen, Bri Hingst had four kills and Haley Stapleton added two in the loss to Wakefield, Hingst had seven digs and Haley Stapelton had five. In a 15-25, 25-21, 25-18 loss to Randolph, Hingst had seven kills while Stapleton and Cassidy Thomas each had three. Thomas had nine assists.
Lady Bears fall to Crofton – The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Lady Bears fell to Crofton in straight sets, 25-16, 25-12, 25-21. Kaci Groene had seven kills and seven blocks to led the LCC net attack, while Katie Leapley had six kills and five blocks. Lorna Maxon had five blocks. Katelyn Cook had eight assists and nine digs, Abbie Bloom had five assists and Bryn Schutte had a team-best 11 digs while Mady Holloway had eight. LCC plays in the Wisner-Pilger Invitational on Saturday.
