Coronation ceremonies were held Wednesday evening (Sept. 14) at Wayne High School for the 2016 Homecoming royalty.
This year's queen is Emily Matthes, daughter of Lonnie and Pam Matthes. This year's king is Lathan Ellis, son of Kary Ellis and Michael Ellis.
Crowning the royalty were members of last year's court - Thorin Mcbride and Janessa Kardell. Crown bearers were Easten Gamble and Elizabeth Hix.
Other members of this year's court included Will Anderson, Tanner DeBoer, Payten Gamble and Tyler Lutt, Brenna Vovos, Kelsey Boyer, Shanda Lambert and Ashten Gibson.
Homecoming Week activities will culminate with the football game on Friday night vs. David City and the dance at the Wayne State College Student Center from 9:30 p.m - 12:30 a.m.
