Human trafficking awareness event scheduled for Wayne

The Nebraska Attorney General's Office, Haven House and the Wayne Police Department will be presenting information on Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence on Thursday, March 30 in Wayne.

The event, which runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., is open to the public. It will be held in the Frey Conference Room on the Wayne State College Campus.

The Nebraska Attorney General's Office will be conducting training on Human Trafficking in Nebraska - what it is, where it happens, how to spot it and what we are doing about it.

Presenters include Anna Brewer and Glen Parks with the Attorney  General's Office and Domenic Consoli with the Wayne Police Department.

Brewer was employed by the FBI as a Special Agent for over 25 years and held assignments in Washington D.C., Reno, Nevada and Omaha. She is currently employed as a Human Trafficking Investigator at the Nebraska Attorney General's Office.

Parks is a prosecutor in the Nebraska Attorney General's Office. Since 2016, he has coordinated the Nebraska Human Trafficking Task Force out of the Nebraska Attorney General's Office. 

Domenic Consoli has been an officer with the Wayne Police Department since 2007. He is a FLETC Domestic Violence Instructor.

The training is being hosed by the Wayne Police Department, Wayne State College Campus Security and Haven House.
