Jacqualyn “Jacque” E. Rahn, 87, of Fremont, formerly of Martinsburg, died Friday, June 6, 2025 at Methodist Hospital in Fremont.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 15 from 5 -7 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Martinsburg, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. The funeral service will be on Monday, June 16, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church; Pastor Martin Hill will be officiating. Burial will be in the Silver Ridge Cemetery near Ponca.
Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church in Martinsburg, the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimer’s Association, or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh–Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield.
Jacqualyn “Jacque” E. Rahn was born in Waterbury, the daughter of LeRoy and Ruby (Swanson) Roberts. She graduated from Allen High School in 1955, where she was involved in many activities, including being a majorette. Following graduation, she graduated from Wayne State Teachers College. She taught for a short time near Emerson, at Brown Country School District 82. She married Vandel Rahn on May 20, 1956 at First Lutheran Church in Allen. To this union, six children were born: Katherine, Kandace, Kurtis, Kregg, Karey, and Karma. She quit teaching to focus on raising her family. Jacque also watched other children in the community, cleaned, and helped Vandel with his business. She was a great seamstress, enjoyed being with her family, and was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Martinsburg. Jacque will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and for a loving, beautiful, generous heart.
Survivors include: daughter, Katherine (Darwin) Rubeck of Gretna and grandson Brandon (Brittany) Rubeck, and their son Jackson; granddaughter, Brooke (Chad) Blythe, and their children, Lincoln and Paxton: daughter, Kandace (John) Pile of Norfolk and granddaughter, Hayley (Greg) Fleissner and their children Averie, Greyson, and Mia; granddaughter, Hollan (Brandon) Drahota, and their children, Lilah, Lakyn, and Leo: son, Kregg Rahn, and his long-time partner, Jennifer Oliver of Bennington and grandson, Justin Rahn; grandson, Jerrad (Sara) Rahn, and their children, Mason, Jace, and Remi; grandson, Logan Rahn: Son, Karey (Joy) Rahn of West Point and grandson, Jaden Rahn; granddaughter, Sadie Rahn: daughter, Karma (Kevin) Chase of Fremont and granddaughter, Taryn (JT) Soole, and their son Noah: granddaughter, Torie (Charles) Swift: sister, Jeann Granstra of Norfolk: sister-in-law, Margie Rahn of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Ruby Roberts; husband, Vandel Rahn; son, Kurtis Rahn; and granddaughter, Hilary Pile.
