Blue Devil bowling competed at home for the fifth time of the season, Lewis and Clark Conference along with Greater Northeast Activity Conference Championships for wrestling were in action, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge and Tri County Northeast basketball competed and a Wayne boys co-op swimmer saw action for the Norfolk boys swim team on Jan. 22.
From Wildcat Lanes in Wayne, the Wayne girls suffered a 13-8 loss while the Blue Devil boys held onto a 15-6 victory against Norfolk.

The Wayne bowling program will next travel to King's Lanes in Norfolk for the Norfolk Invite on Jan. 24 at 9 a.m.
From Homer, Winside and Tri County Northeast both competed in the Lewis and Clark Conference wrestling duals (no individual medals awarded).
The Tri County Northeast girls earned a runner-up finish (going 4-1) while the Winside girls finished fourth (2-3 record) among the six teams.
The Winside boys collected a runner-up finish after going 4-2 while the Tri County Northeast boys took fourth (4-2 record) among the seventh teams.
Again, no individual medals were awarded. Top results will be posted in the Jan. 29 edition of the Wayne Herald.
The Winside and Tri County Northeast wrestlers will next travel to Oakland-Craig on Jan. 24 at 9 a.m.
From Battle Creek, the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge girls basketball team saw their five-game losing streak come to an end following a 61-57 loss while the LCC boys picked up a 60-58 win at Battle Creek.
The LCC girls (11-7) and boys (6-10) will next travel to Norfolk to face Lutheran High Northeast on Jan. 27 starting at 4:30 p.m.
From Plainview, the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge girls wrestlers rounded out the seven-team field with 23 points while the LCC boys also placed seventh (42 pts) among the seven teams during the GNAC wrestling championships.
Top LCC performers for the girls came from Tae Settje (115) earning a runner-up finish. Fourth place medals came from Justice Olson (130) and Grace Galvin (140).
All five members of the LCC boys team earned a medal being led by Jake Lipp (190) in second.
Bronze medals were awarded to Owen Johnson (106), Alex Allison (165) and Paul Allison (175) while Devyn Staples (285) finished fourth.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge girls wrestlers will next join their boys team on Jan. 29 at Randolph at 6 p.m. (boys next compete at Madison Invite on Jan. 23 at 9 a.m.)
From Allen, the Tri County Northeast girls basketball team lost 52-31 while the TCNE boys suffered a 79-50 defeat against Wausa. Both teams have now dropped eight straight.
The Wolfpack girls (3-12) and boys (2-14) were scheduled to next visit Wakefield on Jan. 23 but the games have since been postponed to Feb. 9. TCNE boys are back on their home court (Allen) on Jan. 26 hosting Walthill starting at 6 p.m. while the Wolfpack girls will next host Pender on Jan. 27 (Emerson) starting at 6 p.m. (boys game rescheduled to Feb. 13).
From the Norfolk YMCA, the Norfolk boys swimming team won 124-54 over Kearney.

The Norfolk swim team returns to the pool on Jan. 29 at Lincoln Southwest at 4:30 p.m.
An update from Wakefield: their boys team will not be traveling to Madison on Jan. 23 due to early travel and will also withdraw from the Oakland-Craig Invite on Jan. 24 while recovering from injuries. Both Wakefield girls and boys wrestlers will next travel to the Winnebago triangular on Jan. 27 starting at 5 p.m.
The Trojan Jan. 24 basketball games with TCNE were postponed to Feb. 9.
