With school resuming, additional competitions will make for a busy few months of winter sports action which began on Jan. 5.
From the main gym in Wakefield, the Wakefield girls wrestling team welcomed Wayne and Winnebago for a triangular.
Wayne went 2-0 with wins over Winnebago (60-24) and Wakefield (66-12) while the host Trojans went 0-2 with a 20-18 loss to Winnebago.

The Wayne girls will join their boys wrestling team on Jan. 6 traveling to Albion for the Boone Central Invite with Plainview starting at 6 p.m.
The Wakefield girls will next travel to the Winside Invite on Jan. 10 at 10 a.m. while the Trojan boys are back on the mat (off since Dec. 20) on Jan. 10 during the Summerland Invite (10 a.m.).
From Emerson, the Tri County Northeast girls basketball team lost 40-27 while the Wolfpack boys dropped a 73-48 decision against Bancroft-Rosalie.
The Allen/Emerson-Hubbard co-op boys (2-8) will next visit Siouxland Christian on Jan. 6 (6 p.m.) before the TCNE girls (3-6) will join in on a doubleheader at Wynot on Jan. 8 (4 p.m.).
