Wayne boys basketball, Wayne girls and boys bowling as well as Winside, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, Wakefield and Tri County Northeast basketball were kept busy on Jan. 8.

From Norfolk, the Wayne High boys dropped their third straight following a 49-37 loss at Norfolk Catholic.

The Wayne boys (7-5) will next join their girls team on Jan. 10 at Boone Central in Albion (3:45/5:30 p.m.). The Blue Devil girls (8-4) are in action on Jan. 9 at Pierce (7:30 p.m.).

From Wildcat Lanes in Wayne, the Wayne High girls bowling team won the overall match (15-6) while the Blue Devil boys used a season-high Baker game to win the baker match and the overall match (20-1) against Norfolk Catholic.

The Wayne High bowling program will next visit Hartington-Newcastle for a dual on Jan. 10 (10 a.m.).

From Winside, the Winside girls picked up a 62-32 victory while the Winside boys suffered a 53-51 loss against Randolph.

The Winside girls (5-7) and boys (5-7) will next visit Omaha Nation on Jan. 13 (6/7:30 p.m.) in Macy.

From Laurel, the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge girls suffered their third straight loss falling 62-57 while the LCC boys dropped a 62-36 decision against Cedar Catholic (Hartington).

The LCC girls (6-6) and boys (4-6) will next entertain Humphrey-Lindsay on Jan. 9 starting at 4:30 p.m.

From Wakefield, the Wakefield girls lost 53-26 while the Trojan boys dropped their third straight falling 54-51 against Ponca.

The Wakefield girls (1-11) and boys (7-5) will be off until hosting Bancroft-Rosalie on Jan. 15 at 6/7:30 p.m.

From Wynot, the Tri County Northeast girls saw their losing streak extend to three falling 38-33 while the Wolfpack boys dropped their fourth straight following a 67-52 decision at Wynot.

The TCNE girls (3-7) and boys (2-10) will next visit Winnebago on Jan. 13 starting at 4 p.m.
