Memorial services for Jane Hart, 72, of Tilden, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 15 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilden. The Rev. Chad Boggs will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Brockhaus-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden is in charge of arrangements.
Jane died Thursday, July 9, 2026 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, South Dakota.
Jane Esther Hart was born Feb. 28, 1954 to George and Esther (Siegert) Thompson, in Wayne. The family farmed south of Wayne from 1948 until 1963. Jane was a life-long member of First Trinity Lutheran Church in Altona and was baptized there in May 1968. She attended First Trinity Lutheran School at Altona through the eighth grade. Her family moved to a farm north of Wisner in 1963. Jane graduated from Wisner Pilger High School in May 1972.
Jane went on to Wayne State College and became the manager of the Wayne State College Bookstore. She was assistant manager of Dairy Queen and then became a customer service representative at Northeast Nebraska Public Power District.
Jane married LeRoy Janssen on Aug. 21, 1976. In July of 1984, they adopted their son, Ryan. She was further blessed with two granddaughters, Kylaie (19) and Quinley (6).
Jane belonged to the Wayne Saddle Club, from 1995 to 2004, which took her on many interesting rides across Nebraska, including the Aksarben ride into Omaha.
Jane married Mike Hart on July 8, 2006.
Jane is survived by her husband, Mike; son, Ryan; granddaughters, Kylaie and Quinley; sister, Carol; brother, Larry; three stepsons, Lyle, Brandon, and Travis; and step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Esther Thompson.
