Jeanne M. Odens, 70, of Newman Grove, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023 at the Mid-Nebraska Lutheran Home in Newman Grove.
Private family services will be held at a later date.

Jeanne M. Odens was born March 28, 1953 in Danbury, Iowa to Herbert and Sylvina (Schimmer) Schrunk. She graduated from Maple Valley High School in Mapleton, Iowa in 1971. Jeanne married Harold Odens on June 17, 1983 in Springfield, South Dakota and had four children together. The couple later divorced.
Survivors include her former husband, Harold and their four children Donald (Jolene) Odens of Le Mars, Iowa, Keri (Dave) Keller of Omaha, Kristi Odens of Reno, Nevada, and Steven Odens of Wakefield,; four granddaughters; siblings Rachel Belt of Emerson, Sally Gassner of Allen, Texas, Susan (Dan) Taylor of Sioux City, Iowa, Paul (Carol) Schrunk of Omaha, George (Jane) Schrunk of E Dubuque, Illinois, Laura (Dave) Danay of Rock Island, Illinois, sister-in-law, Jane Schrunk of Danbury, Iowa, brother-in-law Ron Behrendsen of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother in infancy, Norman Schrunk; brothers Allan Schrunk and Frank Schrunk; three sisters, Rosemary Schrunk, Jan Behrendsen and Diane Varwig; sister in-law Cheryl Schrunk and brother in-law Hermie Belt.
