Jensen for Wayne, Carson for LCC both medal during Mac Invite

Wayne High and Laurel-Concord-Coleridge boys golf teams are nearing the end of their regular season as May 8 showcased a competitive battle in the overall team race.

From the Wayne Country Club, 16 teams were in action during the Wayne High 'Mac' Invitational last Thursday.

The Wayne High boys finished eighth with a 363 as Laurel-Concord-Coleridge shot a 371 to place 11th.

In the team race, O'Neill held off Columbus Lakeview by five shots with a 323, the Vikings followed in runner-up (328), Tekamah-Herman took third (332), West Holt placed fourth (346) and Boone Central rounded out the top five teams with a 351.

Brody Rogers from Tekamah-Herman won the playoff over O'Neill's Logan Brabec after both shot a one-over PAR 73 during the 18 hole invite. There were 75 golfers in action.

The Wayne High boys golf team was led by sophomore Dylan Jensen earning a 15th place medal after shooting an 83.

Other Blue Devil results came from junior Carter Wiese (33rd - 90), senior Colson Nelsen (39th - 94), junior Mason Karsky (43rd - 96) and sophomore Landon Sharer (52nd - 99).

LCC was led by Talon Carson in 14th also with an 83 as Tanner Thompson shot a 90 to finish 35th.

Other results from the Bears were posted by Cade Johnson (49th - 99), Luke Erwin (51st - 99) and Gibson Roberts (53rd - 100).
