Funeral services for Jerry Tomjack, 96, of Ewing, were held Friday, Aug. 23 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Ewing.  

Jerry died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2024 at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha with family by his side.

He was born July 25, 1928 in Eugene, Oregon, and returned to Nebraska at age four, living most of his life as a proud citizen of Ewing except for a few job opportunities later in life.  He and his wife, Jeanette, relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona and Norfolk.  His career was most notably known as a gas transport driver.

Jerry served his community as long-time Ewing Village Board member, Holt County Supervisor, St. Peter's Parish Council, and was a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus member.

He loved family, especially enjoying watching his children's and grandchildren's participation in numerous sports and activities.

Survivors include his daughter, Kathi (Rich) Rethwisch of Wayne; son, Dr. Jeff (Kim) Tomjack of Lincoln, and son, Mike (Chris) Tomjack of Bennington; grandchildren Cali (Cody) Guffey, Gage (Jaclynn) Rethwisch, Luke (Savannah) Rethwisch, Ben and Josh Tomjack, Marisa (Josh) Pace, Jadyn, Reece, Brett and Eric Tomjack; great grandchildren Knox, Easton, and Miles Rethwisch, Josiah Pace, and new greats Pace and Rethwisch soon, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by wife, Jeanette, in 2022; son, Steve, in 1965; parents, grandparents, and in laws. He will be sorely missed.
