Jesse C. Milligan, 81, of Carroll, died Friday, June 2, 2023 at his home in Carroll.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 10 at First United Methodist Church in Wayne. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 9 at First United Methodist Church in Wayne. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Carroll.
Memorials may be directed to Jesse’s family for later designation.
Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.
Jesse Clayton Milligan was born Nov. 10, 1941, at his home near Belden to Moncloe “Pete” and Edna (Hight) Milligan. He attended school in Randolph and graduated from Randolph High School. Jesse married Judith Jorgensen on June 14, 1963, at the First United Methodist Church in Wayne. The couple lived and raised their family in Carroll. He was employed at the State of Nebraska Department of Roads and various other jobs. Jesse enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, restoring his ’51 Ford convertible, gardening, and motorcycles.
Survivors include his sons, Troy (Carolyn) Milligan of Armour, South Dakota, Shawn (Elizabeth) Milligan of Wayne and Shane Milligan of Belden; daughter-in-law, Jessica Hensley of Bennington; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Lola Paulsen of Winside, sister-in-law, Cindy Milligan of Wayne; brothers-in-law, LaVerle Hochstein of Carroll, Steve (Gwen) Jorgensen of Norfolk; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy, in 2020; sons, Cory Milligan and Stacy Milligan; parents, Moncloe and Edna Milligan; parents-in-law, George and Adaline Jorgensen; brothers, Wayne Milligan and Edwin Milligan; sisters-in-law, Kathy Hochstein and Mona Meyer and brothers-in-law, Marvin Paulsen and Bob Meyer.
