John R. Paulsen, 70, of Hoskins, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025 at his residence, rural Hoskins.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 11at the Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk. Rev. Terry Buol will be officiating the service. The family asks that casual or Nebraska Cornhusker attire be worn for the service. Private family burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be 4 -7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 10 also at Stonacek Funeral Chapel.

John R. Paulsen was born on July 6, 1955 in Norfolk to John and Dorothy (Hansen) Paulsen. He grew up in Stanton and attended grade school in Stanton. John graduated from Stanton High School in 1974. He married Cheryl Schaefer on April 5, 1975 at St. Frances Catholic Church in Randolph. After marriage, the family lived in Norfolk and then moved to rural Hoskins in 1984. John worked at Nucor for 43 years until he retired. John enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with not only his family but with his dog Mollie. John was a member of the Hoskins Volunteer Fire Department and was an EMT for 28 years.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Paulsen of Hoskins; son, David Paulsen of Norfolk; daughter, Sandra Paulsen of Lebanon, Kentucky; grandchildren Aden and Logan Paulsen; brother, Dale (Julie) Paulsen of Norfolk, and brother Dan Paulsen of Stanton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dorothy Paulsen, and sister-in-law, Judy Paulsen.
