Funeral services for Joyce D. Goshorn, 77, of Stanton, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 23 at New England Congregational Church in Stanton. Rev. Scott Frederickson will officiate, with burial in Stanton Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, May 22 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church.

Joyce Diane Goshorn died Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at Faith Regional Health Services after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.
Joyce Diane Gilliland was born July 7, 1947 to Wayne and Elma (Dugan) Gilliland in Wayne. She graduated from Wayne High School in 1965 and from Wayne State College in 1969. From 1969 to 1970, she taught home economics and business at Leigh Community Schools. In the fall of 1970 she moved to Merna, Nebraska where she taught for two years. There Joyce met and married Sanford “Sandy” Goshorn. They were married on April 9, 1971 at the United Methodist Church in Merna and were blessed with four children, Chan, Chandra, Carin and Candece.
The family lived in Merna until July of 1984, at which time Sandy’s employment moved them to Stanton. She worked various jobs throughout her lifetime starting with teaching, then to Becton Dickinson in Broken Bow, Casey’s in Stanton for 10 years, and Stanton County Attorney’s Office for 28 and a half years.
Joyce was a member of New England Congregational Church in Stanton and the Stanton County Historical Society. She was also a member of Merna American Legion Auxiliary.
Joyce loved her family and enjoyed keeping up with her children and grandchildren’s activities.
Survivors include her son, Chan (Ann) Goshorn of Lincoln and their children, Olivia, Avery, and Owen; daughter, Chandra (Rodney) Krinhop of Fort Collins, Colorado; daughter, Carin (Kirk) Van Pelt of Stanton and their children, Kelton and Kolter (Kelsey); daughter, Candece, (Ryan) Hansen of Stanton and their children, Grace, Ella, Leah, and Hayden; and sister, Rosemary Holloway of Fruitland, Idaho.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sandy in 2019; her father and mother; and infant brother.
