June 20 Wayne Herald scores, Wayne Youth Tourney games delayed - Ponies on schedule

Day two of the Wayne Youth baseball tourney showcased a full schedule, four Dirt Devil softball teams concluded pool play in Yankton with 10s Red back in West Point as the Wakefield Juniors competed in the Creighton Berry Pepper Tourney.

Saturday morning update:

Tourney officals are starting 14U on time this morning, 12U is delayed one hour and 10U is delayed two hours. 
 

From the Summer Sports Complex during the 14U (Pony) Division, the Wayne Tourney team lost 12-5 against Twin River and 18-6 to O'Neill.

Other Pony scores will be posted once available: Blair won 14-0 over North Bend, Ashland won 16-1 over Blair, Ashland won 13-5 over North Bend and Twin River won 6-1 over O'Neill.

The Wayne Pony Tournament team will face North Bend at 1 p.m. during the fifth place game. Pony games will be on time pending additional weather (field conditions).

The third place contest between O'Neill and Blair is set to open the morning at 9 a.m. (pending field conditions) followed by the finals between Ashland and Twin River at 1 p.m.


In the 12U (Bronco) Division, the Wayne Tourney team dropped a 13-3 decision O'Neill.

Other Bronco scores will be posted when available: Hartington (Leise) won 18-4 over Wahoo, Wahoo won 5-4 over Pierce, O'Neill won 17-2 over Logan View, Wahoo won 10-6 over Crofton and Logan View won 16-4 over Hartington (Koch).

The Wayne Bronco Tourney team will conclude pool play on June 21 scheduled to now start around noon against Hartington (Koch) while Pierce will open the morning scheduled for 10 a.m. against Hartington (Leise). The first and third place games later in the day (now at 3/5 p.m. can be decided after these results.

Bronco games were pushed back one hour (which is included in the above times).


During the 10U (Didget) Division, the Wayne Tourney team won 13-7 over Logan View, lost 5-3 to O'Neill and won 12-1 against Bellwood.

Other Didget scores will be posted once available: O'Neill won 13-4 over Bellwood, Logan View won 15-2 over Bellwood and O'Neill won 5-4 over Logan View.

The Wayne Didget Tourney team is now scheduled to compete in the first place game on June 21 at 1 p.m. against O'Neill. Bellwood vs. Logan View will showcase the third place game now at 11 a.m.

Didget games received a two-hour delay due to overnight rain (which is represented in times above).


Back in Yankton, SD during the 34th annual YGSA Father's Day Tourney, Dirt Devil softball concluded pool play.

The Dirt Devil 16/18s won 7-5 over SD Intensity and lost 7-6 to SD Boom 18U.

The Dirt Devils are now 18-10 and will compete against Swat 18U at 11 a.m. on June 21 during the Gold single elimination bracket.


The Dirt Devil 14s won 13-3 over TSC Tornadoes and held onto an 8-7 victory against Southeast Elite.

The Dirt Devils (21-9-1) will begin June 21 in the Gold single elimination bracket facing SD Phoenix 14U at 11 a.m.


The Dirt Devil 12s dropped a 12-0 decision to Yankton Fury Outlaws to now sit 3-27-1.

The Dirt Devils will compete in the Silver single elimination bracket against Yankton Fury Storm 11U at 8 a.m. on June 21.


Dirt Devil 10s Black lost 8-1 to SD Players Red falling to 11-16-1.

The Dirt Devils will take part in the Silver single elimination bracket on June 21 against Bandits Sioux Falls at 8 a.m.


Back in West Point for the Logan Valley League Tourney for Dirt Devil 10s Red, the Dirt Devils first lost 15-5 to Arlington Black before fighting off elimination during a 7-6 win over Yutan White.

Dirt Devil 10s Red (8-17) is back in action scheduled for 10 a.m. against Fremont (Paden) on June 21.


From Creighton during the Junior Division of the Berry Pepper Tourney, the Wakefield Post 81 Jrs lost 9-6 to Albion before picking up a 9-7 win over Tri-County (Summerland/Niobrara-Verdigre) during the third place game.

Wakefield Post 81 Jrs (3-8) will next host Wisner-Pilger/Dodge-Howells on June 22 at 5:30 p.m. followed by Srs action around 8 p.m.

The Post 81 Srs (5-5) are in action in Creighton on Sunday opening with Albion at 1 p.m. and will play the winner/loser of either Creighton or Tri-County at 3 p.m. (third place) or 5 p.m. (finals).
