The Wayne Junior High speech team competed at the Norfolk JH speech invitational on April 25.
Olivia Schlines and Hailey Vick received fifth place in Duet Acting; Penelope Zavada-Cupp, Benjamin Patefield, Ashlyn Trautman, Sarah Kuchta, and Nolan Samuelson received second in Oral Interpretation of Drama; Ashlyn Trautman received first place in Impromptu speaking; Nolan Samuelson received third in Informative speaking and Jonah Davis received third in Extemporaneous speaking
The team received fifth place overall.
The team will host a meet in Wayne on Saturday, May 3. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with the first round of speeches beginning at 9 a.m. Round two is set for 10:30 a.m. and Round three at noon. Awards will be presented at 1:15 p.m.
