After 10 years as coach of the Wayne High volleyball team, Traci Krusemark announced recently that she is stepping down from the position.

Wayne High athletic director Dave Wragge announced late Tuesday that Nichelle Daum will take over as head coach for Krusemark after serving for two years as one of her assistants.

“Coach Krusemark was a great coach that produced consistent teams year in and year out,” Wragge said. “She did a great job of developing younger players and creating camps and opportunities for them to improve during the offseason. The foundation built by Coach Krusemark will help future Blue Devil teams as well. We are looking forward to having Coach Daum leading the Lady Blue Devils. She has proven to be a knowledgeable volleyball coach that has a great passion for the game.”

Krusemark had a great run as the Blue Devils coach, going 215-109 in 10 years with the team. With her as coach, the Blue Devils earned two regular-season Mid State Conference titles, won the school’s only conference tournament title and made three trips to the state volleyball tournament in 2013, 2018 and 2019.
