The roar of motors, the aroma of food cooking on the grill, music playing and booths lining the block-long event brought a good turnout to Laurel's Cruise Night held recently in downtown Laurel.
Laurel Emergency Medical Services (EMS) did the cooking for the evening with hamburgers and hot dogs for their annual fundraiser. There were 32 entries entered into the car show. People were encouraged to vote for their favorite entry. Randy Swanson received first place in the People's Choice Award with his 2025 Stingray, Jace Nelson received second place with his mini dragster. In the kiddie event, Landon Burns (left) along with his brother Maverick received first place trophy mugs and candy for their dirt bike entry and also received third overall placing for the people's votes.
Also attending the event were the fall teams from Laurel-Concord-Coleridge School. The school held scrimmages for each of the fall sports, Football, Volleyball, Girls Golf and Cross Country prior to the event downtown. At the conclusion of their scrimmages, all the athletes formed a procession and made their way downtown where each team and coach were introduced. Athletes then passed out LCC Fall Sports magnets with the season's schedules.
Entertainment for the evening was the dance group from WaveLike Centre, Wayne.
