Alma White, a Laurel-Concord-Coleridge fifth grader, was recently elected as a representative in a primary election held in the LCC classroom.
White is one of the final seven candidates in the 2025 Nebraska Kid Governor Election. These fifth graders have created campaign videos outlining why they want to be Nebraska’s first Kid Governor®. Throughout the past couple of months they have learned what leadership qualities they have, community issues important to them, and created a three point plan outlining ways for Nebraska's fifth graders to make a difference.
Alma is running on a platform focused on making sure every student has the essentials they need at school.
The student who wins the election will be inaugurated in January and the other students will make up their cabinet.
The Statewide Election started Monday, Nov. 3 and ends Wednesday, Nov. 12.
