Laurel residents encouraged to avoid drinking city water

The City of Laurel was notified by the State of Nebraska that the Nitrate concentration in Well 2009-1 has exceeded the recommended level of 10 mg/L.

A sample taken from Well 2009-1 on July 21 measured at a concentration of 11 milligrams per liter.

Adults and children older than six months can drink the tap water. However, anyone with specific health concerns,  may want to consult a physician.

Infants below the age of six months and pregnant or nursing mothers should not drink the tap water.

The City offers bottled water at the City Office for those at risk.

DO NOT BOIL THE WATER.
