With one more boys road contest on the schedule late next week and girls to begin postseason play on Monday Laurel-Concord-Coleridge was in action during weeknight competition.
From Laurel, LCC played host to Wisner-Pilger on Thursday.
The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge girls won 72-58 while the LCC boys picked up a 73-51 victory against the visiting Gators.
In the girls game, LCC built a 15-11 first quarter lead before adding to their lead thanks to a 19-11 second quarter to go up 34-22 at half. The Bears again extended their lead with an 18-15 third as Wisner-Pilger won the fourth, 21-20. Final favored Laurel-Concord-Coleridge winning 72-58 to improve to 12-11 as the Gators fell to 9-13.
Sophomore Carlie Kvols knocked down six three’s to lead LCC with 22 points as sophomore Kaida Eriksen (four made three’s) added 15 points and sophomore Rena Rasmussen followed with 13 points.
Other scoring came from sophomore Hattie McCorkindale with eight points, senior Lainey Schutte tallied six points, junior Karli Ferris tacked on five points as junior Tyler Recob scored three points.
LCC shot 7-10 from the foul line (6-6 in the fourth).
Wisner-Pilger leaders were sophomore Ramsey Arduser (6-6 FT) with 17 points (10 pts in fourth), junior Emerson Bellar followed with 15 points, senior Haley Kneifl added 13 points as senior Hannah Parker tallied 10 points.
The Gators finished 15-21 at the charity stripe.
During the boys outing, LCC led 21-17 following the opening quarter and began to pull away with a 22-10 second quarter advantage to lead 43-27 at half. The Bears also won the third quarter, 16-13 and fourth, 14-11. Final Favored Laurel-Concord-Coleridge winning 73-51 to improve to 8-14 as Wisner-Pilger fell to 5-16.
Senior Gibson Roberts (8-11 FT) posted a team-high 20 points for the Bears, sophomore Cade Johnson fouled out with 16 points as senior Caleb Erwin and freshman Drey Puppe both scored 14 points.
Senior Eli Haisch added six points as sophomore Tanner Thompson followed with three points.
The Bears shot 14-18 from the foul line.
Wisner-Pilger leaders were junior Regan Raabe with 20 points as sophomore Jaxon Knoell added 12 points.
The Gators finished 6-13 at the charity stripe.
LCC will conclude regular season play at Wynot on Friday, Feb. 21.
