A second straight year of the Greater Northeast Activities Conference Volleyball Tournament showcased Laurel-Concord-Coleridge in the finals.
From Atkinson on Oct. 24, #1 Laurel-Concord-Coleridge recorded their 26th sweep of the season with a 3-0 victory over #3 West Holt (25-20, 25-16, 25-22) in the GNAC finals.
The Bears are now 28-3 entering postseason play.
Junior Rena Rasmussen recorded a team-high 13 kills and seven digs during the GNAC finals.
Junior Kaida Eriksen led the Bears in digs with 10, added three solo blocks and eight kills as senior Tyler Recob tallied eight kills, five digs and four service aces.
Junior Carlie Kvols finished with 33 assists, five digs and two kills. She also had three aces.
Junior Boston Brown tacked on three solo blocks.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is tabbed the #2 seed for the C2-6 Subdistrict hosted in Oakland starting Oct. 27-28.
#2 LCC will await the winner of either #3 Elkhorn Valley (14-13) or #6 Walthill (3-18) at 6 p.m. on Oct. 28. Elkhorn Valley and Walthill will play tonight at 7:30 p.m.
The other half of the bracket will feature #4 Ponca (12-17) vs. #5 Tekamah-Herman (7-24) at 6 p.m. tonight. The winner will face the host #1 Oakland-Craig (26-6) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
The C2-6 Subdistrict Final is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 29 in Oakland.
