The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge volleyball team saw its season come to an end with a three-set loss to Crofton in the C2-5 subdistrict Monday at Randolph High School.
The Lady Bears opened tournament play with a four-set win in the play-in bracket, defeating Plainview 25-16, 23-25, 25-14, 25-15.
Bryn Schutte had 12 kills and Kaci Groene added 10 to lead the net attack, with Katie Leapley adding six. Katelyn Cook had three kills, Emily Hangman added two and Ashley Wolfgram had one. Cook had 24 assists, with Hangman adding three, Mady Holloway putting up two and Groene adding one.
In the serving department, Groene had four ace serves, with Hangman and Schutte each adding two and Holloway scoring an ace.
Defensively, Leapley had six blocks, Schutte and Hangman each had three and Groene had two. Schutte picked up 15 digs, Groene had 13, Hangman had 12, Cook had 10, Holloway picked up nine, Wolfgram had three and Leapley had one.
The win advanced LCC to the semifinals, where they fell to top-seeded Crofton in three sets, 25-13, 25-16, 25-11.
Groene had five kills, Leapley and Schutte each had four, Hangman had three and Cook added two for the Lady Bears. Cook had 15 assists and an ace serve, while Hangman added an assist.
On defense, Schutte had four blocks while Cook, Hangman, Groene and Leapley all added a stuff. Holloway had eight digs, Groene and Schutte each had seven, Cook had four, Hangman picked up three, Wolfgram had two and Leapley added one.
The Lady Bears ended the season with a record of 9-18.
