LCC girls win third straight, boys drop back-to-back

For the fifth time of the season, the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge girls and boys basketball teams competed on the road.

From Plainview, LCC visited the Pirates on Friday.

The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge girls picked up a 67-30 win while the LCC boys suffered a 60-56 loss in overtime.

In the girls game, LCC won their third straight improving to 4-2 as Plainview fell to 1-6.

During the boys outing, Plainview led 16-8 after the first quarter followed by LCC using a 19-13 second. The host Pirates led 29-27 at the break. LCC then tied the game up with a 12-10 third then both teams scored 14 points in the fourth forcing overtime tied at 53-53. Plainview used a 7-3 advantage in OT to win 60-56 and improve to 5-1. The Bears have dropped back-to-back falling to 4-2.
