LCC relays and Erwin lead girls; Puppe with trifecta for boys

Mid-week track & field competition was showcased for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge.

From Creighton, LCC was among eight girls and nine boys teams during the 2025 Knox County Track Invite on Wednesday.

The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge girls finished fourth with 77 points while the LCC boys took sixth with 48 points.

In the girls division, Niobrara/Verdigre won the invite with 106 points, followed closely by Wausa in runner-up (101), Bloomfield took third (91), LCC placed fourth (77) and Crofton rounded out the top five teams with 70 points.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge was led individually by Tali Erwin winning the high jump (5′) and finished fifth in both the 100-meter hurdles (18.84) and 300-meter hurdles (59.00).

Two first place times brought home 20 total team points from the the LCC 4×400 of Carlie Kvols, Hattie McCorkindale, Tyler Recob and Kate Tasler in 4:33.15 along with the 4×800 (Tasler, Addy Hoeppner, Recob and Justice Olson) in 11:17.16.

Silver medals were posted by Kate Tasler during the 800-meter run (2:35.44) and Faith Galvin in the 3200-meter run (14:01.85).

Two 1600-meter medals came from Faith Galvin (third – 6:12.62) and Justice Olson (sixth – 6:34).

Taelynn Settje took third in the long jump (15′ 5″), fifth in the 200-meter dash (28.65) and sixth in the 100-meter dash (13.52).

Laney Folkers added a third place finish in the triple jump (30′ 5″) as a sixth place time was posted by Tyler Recob during the 400-meter dash (1:10.14).

Another relay medal came from the 4×100 of McCorkindale, Settje, Grace Galvin and Erwin (fourth – 54.61).

During the boys division,  Crofton won the invite with 105 points, Wausa followed in runner-up (87), Boone Central took third (86), Bloomfield placed fourth (78) and Wasua rounded out the top five teams with 77 points.

Drey Puppe won both the 110-meter hurdles (14.32) and the 300-meter hurdles by over two seconds (42.27) while also winning the high jump (5′ 10 1/4″).

Jaylen Carpenter collected a third place mark in the shot put (41′ 10″), Ian Sohler placed fourth during the triple jump (36′ 7″) and Shane Langford took fifth in the 800-meter run (2:27.21).

The top relay finish was posted by the LCC 4×800 of Langford, Dayton Korth, Sebastian Van Drongelen and Carter Korth crossing the finish line in third with a time of 9:59.14.
