LCC secures 3-0 sweep over Randolph

After playing a trio of matches on the road, the home season began on Sept. 5 for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge volleyball.

From Laurel, the Bears welcomed Randolph on Thursday.

LCC made quick work thanks to a 3-0 sweep to improve to 3-1 as the Cardinals fell to 0-6.

Scores of the match favored the Bears 25-13, 25-8, 25-6.

Sophomore Rena Rasmussen posted a team-high 12 kills, three digs and one solo block followed by senior Tali Erwin with 10 kills and two digs. Junior Tyler Recob led the team in digs with five to go along with two kills and a block as sophomore Carlie Kvols finished with 28 assists, one dig, three kills and one solo block.

Sophomore Kaida Eriksen added three kills, four digs and a solo block as senior Lainey Schutte had two kills, four digs and one block. Other digs came from senior Avery Hahne (four) and senior Baylie Graf (one).

Rasmussen recorded a team-high five service aces, Recob and Eriksen both had four aces as Kvols added an ace.

The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge volleyball team was to visit Homer on Tuesday, Sept. 10 before competing in the Wakefield Invite (Sept. 12 and 14).
