LCC snaps long losing streaks, Roberts surpasses 1,000 points in career

Following home competition earlier in the week, the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge girls and boys basketball teams were back on the road to open the weekend.

From Walthill, LCC visited the Blujays on Friday.

The LCC girls won 76-38 while the LCC boys secured a 57-47 victory against Walthill.

In the girls game, LCC scored 56 of their 76 points in the first half on their way to snapping a seven-game losing streak to improve to 6-9. Walthill fell to 7-7 dropping their third straight.

Sophomore Rena Rasmussen recorded a team-high 32 points as junior Camryn Sohler added 14 points.

During the boys outing, LCC snapped a nine-game losing streak to improve to 5-9 as Walthill fell to 6-9.

Senior Gibson Roberts eclipsed 1,000 career points thanks to a 29- point performance. Sophomore Cade Johnson added seven points as senior Eli Haisch posted six points.
