LCC varsity boys, Wayne JV and trio of Wakefield golfers compete in Laurel

Several northeast Nebraska boys golf teams including the host Laurel-Concord-Coleridge as well as other golfers from Wakefield and Wayne were in action on Thursday.

From the Cedar View Country Club in Laurel, 16 varsity and JV golf programs made up the LCC Invite.

The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge boys placed seventh with a 369, just two shots out from a top five finish. Wayne JV scored a 438 to finish 13th while no team scoring was reported for Wakefield with three golfers in action.

Tekamah-Herman was crowned champion of the LCC Invite with a 330, Ponca followed in second (336), Cedar Catholic took third (348), Elkhorn Valley placed fourth (361) and Hartington-Newcastle rounded out the top five teams with a 367.

Brody Rogers from Tekamah-Herman shot the 18-hole low with a 74 among the 72 golfers.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge was led by a top 10 varsity finish from Talon Carson placing fifth with an 80. Other varsity results for the Bears came from Gibson Roberts (17th – 89), Tanner Thompson (34th – 96), Kolten Settje (45th – 104) and Cade Johnson (47th – 105).

One LCC Junior Varsity boys golf team posted a full score finishing 12th overall with a 416. Results were led by Luke Erwin (28th – 92), Paxton Hoeppner (41st – 102), Caleb Erwin (46th – 105), Parker Hoeppner (56th – 117) and Connor Korth (63rd – 119).

A second LCC JV team was led by Jake Lipp (68th – 134) and Eli Haisch (69th – 136).

Three Wakefield boys golf scores were posted by Jacob Birkley in 29th (92) followed by Lane Fischer (61st – 119) and Drew Kubik (66th – 127).

The Wayne JV golfers were led by Maddux Heithold (35th – 98), Brayden Woehler (53rd – 110), Jaxson Chase (54th – 111), Jamison Meyer (60th – 119) and Jake Barner (62nd – 119).
