Night two of the 2025 NSAA State Volleyball Championships concluded after 10 p.m. during opening competition of Class C2 action showcasing Laurel-Concord-Coleridge.
From the Pinnacle Bank Arena South Court in Lincoln, #6 Laurel-Concord-Coleridge picked up a four-set victory over #3 Norfolk Catholic (25-23, 17-25, 25-22, 25-22).
The Bears (32-3) are on a 13-match win streak while the Knights (27-6) had their three-match win streak snapped.
LCC is appearing in their first state tournament as Laurel-Concord-Coleridge while Norfolk Catholic had appeared in their 18th state tourney (second straight).
A trio of double-doubles were posted by LCC.
Junior Rena Rasmussen (.348) recorded a team-high 27 kills and 20 digs to go along with two blocks; junior Kaida Eriksen (one block) followed with 16 kills and a team-high 25 digs while senior Carlie Kvols (two kills, two blocks) closed with 47 assists and 17 digs.
Senior Tyler Recob added 13 digs and five kills as junior Boston Brown tallied nine digs, four kills and one block.
Sophomore Taelynn Settje (11 digs) and senior Laney Folkers both had a kill. Junior Justice Olson totaled two digs.
The Bears hit .194 on the match while Norfolk Catholic finished with a .138 attack percentage.
LCC was held to one ace (Rasmussen) while both teams posted eight service errors (Knights had eight aces).
The PBA South Court C2 evening session began with an upset for #7 Oakland-Craig (29-7) (22-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-20) over #2 GACC (28-4).
The PBA North Court C2 evening session favored #8 Yutan (22-7) (17-25, 25-17, 19-25, 25-17, 15-11) over #1 Johnson County Central (31-1) while #4 Freeman (27-4) won in four sets over #5 Thayer Central (27-6) (25-18, 25-23, 21-25, 25-20).
Class C2 semifinals will be played on Nov. 7 at the PBA South Court. #8 Yutan will open the afternoon against #4 Freeman at 1 p.m. followed by #6 Laurel-Concord-Coleridge vs. #7 Oakland-Craig at 3 p.m.
The C2 consolation round will be played at Lincoln East High School on Nov. 8 at 3 p.m. with the finals at 1 p.m. from the Bob Devaney Sports Center.
