LCC volleyball splits road triangular

Class C1 Laurel-Concord-Coleridge took to the road for a pair of matches on Thursday.

LCC competed against Class D1 Howells-Dodge as well as the host and Class C2 Humphrey-Lindsay during the triangular format.

The visiting Bears picked up a 2-0 victory over Howells-Dodge (26-24, 25-23) but suffered a 2-0 loss against the host Humphrey-Lindsay (17-25, 22-25). LCC is now 20-3 on the season and have gone 11-1 since Sept. 14.

In the win over Howells-Dodge, senior Tali Erwin recorded 10 kills, eight digs and a solo block; sophomore Carlie Kvols posted 17 assists, seven digs and one kill as sophomore Kaida Eriksen led the Bears in digs with 17.

Sophomore Rena Rasmussen followed with five kills, six digs and a block; senior Lainey Schutte added three kills, nine digs and a solo block as sophomore Hattie McCorkindale tallied two kills and a block. Other digs came from senior Baylie Graf (six) and junior Tyler Recob (two).

Eriksen and Schutte both finished with a service ace.

During the loss against Humphrey-Lindsay, Rasmussen recorded a double-double with 12 kills and 18 digs while Kvols posted 17 assists, nine digs and four kills.

Erwin followed with seven kills and eight digs; Eriksen added three kills and 13 digs as Recob (two digs) and Schutte (12 digs) both had two kills. Other digs came from Graf (six).

Kvols finished with the lone service ace.
