LCC volleyball wins Central City Invite, Kvols surpasses 2,000 career assists

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge volleyball began a nine-match road stretch with a weekend invitational.

From Central City, LCC continued their undefeated season winning three straight matches on Sept. 20.

The Bears began with a 2-0 sweep over Wood River (25-11, 25-16), followed by a 2-0 sweep over Boone Central (25-23, 25-22) and won their final match over Adams Central (25-16, 25-23).

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is now 14-0 on the season and improved to 32-2 in sets played.

For the weekend, junior Rena Rasmussen led LCC with 30 kills, 27 digs, four blocks (one solo) and three service aces with one double-double as junior Kaida Eriksen added 22 kills, 12 digs and three aces.

Junior Carlie Kvols finished with 62 assists, 22 digs, six kills and three blocks (one solo).

During the LCC volleyball 3-0 sweep vs. Plainview (25-17, 25-13, 25-12) on Thursday, September 18, junior setter Carlie Kvols surpassed 2,000 career assists.

Through the weekend, Kvols is now at 2,076 career assists. She has played in 80 matches, averaging just under 26 assists per match.

Also this past weekend, senior Tyler Recob tallied 25 digs, 10 kills, three solo blocks and two aces as junior Hattie McCorkindale had three blocks (one solo) and three aces.

Junior Justice Olson posted a team-five five services aces.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is back on the road on Tuesday, September 23 at Lutheran High Northeast (starting at 5:30 p.m.) in Norfolk, travels to Wynot for a triangular along with Wakefield on Thursday, September 25 (starting at 5:30 p.m.) before competing in the Elkhorn Valley Tournament in Tilden on Saturday, September 27.

LCC will return to their home court on Tuesday, September 30 starting at 5:30 p.m.
