LCC volleyball wins twice in Homer

Tuesday night marked a busy day of high school volleyball which also featured Laurel-Concord-Coleridge.

From Homer, Class C1 LCC visited the Class C2 Homer Knights to start the week while also facing a Class D1 opponent on a neutral court.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge secured a four-set victory over the host Homer while sweeping Walthill in a best-of-three set match also in Homer. The Bears are now 5-1 on the season.

Homer fell to 5-2 as Walthill dropped to 0-6.

Scores of the match in the victory over Homer favored LCC 25-19, 19-25, 25-15, 25-15 while in the sweep against Walthill, scores favored the Bears 25-5, 25-14.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge will next compete in the Wakefield Invite with matches beginning on Thursday, Sept. 14.

LCC will face Lutheran High Northeast and Wakefield during the third and fourth matches of the evening on Thursday from the main gym with the opening match starting at 5 p.m. LCC will also take on Tekamah-Herman to close out Pool A competition on Saturday ahead of the championship bracket.
