Three of the Wayne Herald area cross country programs took to CedarView Country Club in Laurel for the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Invite on Thursday.
They included the host LCC Bears, Wakefield Trojans and Tri County Northeast Wolfpack (Allen/Emerson-Hubbard) running their respective 5k. The LCC Bulldogs were also in action during the junior high 3k race.
The LCC girls were crowned champion with 25 points while the LCC boys took runner-up with 56 points (behind Homer's 23 pts). The Tri County Northeast girls took fourth (68), Wolfpack boys finished sixth (73) as the Wakefield girls placed sixth (96) with no boys team scoring.
LCC female medalists were Kate Tasler earning bronze with a time of 22:03.4, Leah Gould took fifth (22:54.6), Faith Galvin finished eighth (23:06.3) and Addy Hoeppner placed 13th (24:04.1).
Tri County Northeast was led by Alejandra Hermosillo in sixth (23:00.9) as Rachael Bousquet placed 10th (23:32.2).
Wakefield's Jamie Lopez just missed out on a top 15 medal finishing 16th place (24:17.5).
LCC's male medalist was Shane Langford in sixth during a time of 19:25.8 as Owen Johnson just missed a medal in 16th (21:06.2).
Tri County Northeast was led by Jude Ridenour in seventh (19:30.2) and Alex Snyder followed in 12th (20:21.3).
Wakefield's Will Benson secured a 10th place medal (20:01.3).
Ava Brennan won the girls race (20:43.9) as Gannon Pfister crossed the line first in the boys race (18:12.42) both from Ponca.
The LCC Bulldogs finished third in the junior high mixed division with 36 points (Homer edged Hartington, 10 to 11).
Jeremiah Kinkaid was the top male placing seventh (11:56.1) along with Rhett Eggers rounding out the top 10 medalists (12:16.9).
Autumn Funk paced the Bulldog girls with a 10th place medal (14:00.5).
Homer's Tommy Reed crossed the line first for the boys (10:43.3) as Kynlee Steffen (Hartington) won the girls race (11:47.8).
