Thursday late afternoon cross country was on the Sept. 17 schedule for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge.
From Twin Creeks Golf Club in Pender, the LCC girls finished runner-up with 22 points while the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge boys placed 10th (105).
In the girls varsity division, Faith Galvin won individual gold for the Bears among the 62 runners in a time of 20:45.2.
Additional medalists were Justice Olson in 13th (22:02.2) and Leah Gould in 14th (22:09.6).
During boys varsity competition, Owen Johnson was the top LCC finisher in 17th (18:49.5).
After competing in a road week day dual, the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge girls golf team took part in a Monday invite.
From the Hartington Golf Club on Sept. 21, LCC finished runner-up with a 456 team score during the Cedar Catholic Invite.
Harper Bruning posted a net-low 18 with a 101 to capture silver followed closely by Alyza Leonard in fourth with a 102.
A busy six-day stretch took over the September schedule for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge volleyball.
First from Plainview on Sept. 17, LCC swept the host Pirates (25-14, 25-21, 25-14).
The Bears then went 2-1 during the Central City Invite on Sept. 19 thanks to a pair of 2-0 wins over Centennial (25-14, 25-15) and Boone Central (27-25, 27-25) but suffered a 2-0 loss against the host Bison (18-25, 23-25).
In recent action, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge secured a 3-0 home sweep over Lutheran High Northeast (25-15, 25-16, 25-16) to now sit 12-3 on the season.
During the road win at Plainview, Rena Rasmussen posted a double-double with 18 kills and 16 digs.
Kaida Eriksen led LCC in digs with 18 to go along with nine kills as Carlie Kvols dished out 30 assists to go along with eight digs and three kills.
Rasmussen then collected another double-double in the match against Boone Central in Central City thanks to 14 kills and 19 digs.
Following a home loss the week prior, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge defended their home field in a battle of Class D2 football programs.
From Laurel on Sept. 18, LCC secured a 41-14 victory over Bloomfield to improve to 3-1.
Paxton Hoeppner completed 7-of-17 for 132 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran the ball four times for 53 yards including a long of 51 yards and a touchdown to go along with a pair of two-point conversions.
Kai Hartung added eight carries for 31 yards and a touchdown to go along with a 16-yard reception.
Drey Puppe led the receiving attack on three catches for 70 yards and a score. He also converted 2-3 field goals from 27 yards and a long of 33 yards to go along with one extra point.
Talon Carson tallied three receptions for 46 yards and a touchdown.
Parker Hoeppner also posted a 75-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
Cade Johnson, Parker Hoeppner and Dayton Korth all recorded nine tackles (four solo) to lead the Bears. Johnson added two tackles for loss.
