For the third consecutive Thursday, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge cross country took over a course and this time it was their home meet.
From Cedarview Country Club in Laurel, the LCC girls won their division with 10 points and the boys took sixth (67).
During the girls division, Faith Galvin crossed the line in first during a time of 20:38.42 among the 41 runners.
All other LCC runners finished inside the top 15.
In boys action, Owen Johnson led LCC in 19th (20:06.06) followed by Sebastian Van Drongelen (28th - 21:01.21).
Following just over a week off from action, the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge girls golf program competed twice in four days.
First from the Pierce Community Golf Course on Sept. 12, LCC finished fifth with a 438.
The Bears also shot a 212 to win the nine-hole Pender dual at Twin Creeks Golf Club on Sept. 15.
In Pierce, LCC's Harper Bruning fired a 92 to earn a fourth place medal.
The top LCC golfer during the Pender dual was Harper Bruning being the individual champion with a 47 followed closely by Alyza Leonard (49) with a bronze medal.
Despite an early loss on day one, the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge volleyball program defended their title during the Wakefield Invite.
From Wakefield on Sept. 10, LCC first suffered a three-set loss against St. Mary's (21-25, 25-7, 22-25) before winning 2-0 over Lyons-Decatur Northeast (25-11, 25-16).
The Bears then began Sept. 12 action with their first of three sweeps starting against Elkhorn Valley (25-17, 25-19). LCC also swept Ponca in the championship bracket semifinal (25-20, 25-13) before winning the Wakefield Invite over Elkhorn Valley (25-14, 25-14).
One other match was played recently for the Bears on Sept. 15 where LCC won in straight sets at Neligh-Oakdale (25-8, 25-12, 25-20).
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is now 8-2 on the season.
Invite double-doubles were posted by Rena Rasmussen with 26 kills and 11 digs against St. Mary's along with a 15-kill/14-dig performance against Elkhorn Valley.
Carlie Kvols (42 assists/12 digs) and Kaida Eriksen (11 kills/16 digs) both finished with a double-double against St. Mary's.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge stormed out to a dominating start but Hartington-Newcastle kept chipping away and following a weather delay finished with the win.
From Laurel on Sept. 11, LCC (Class D2) suffered a 42-36 decision against the HNS Wildcats falling to 2-1. Hartington-Newcastle (Class D1) improved to 3-0.
Paxton Hoeppner finished 8-for-17 for 94 yards with one interception and one touchdown. He also rushed the ball four times for 44 yards.
Tanner Thompson controlled the ground game on 19 carries for 113 yards and two touchdowns.
Drey Puppe hauled in the lone receiving touchdowns on six catches for 83 yards. He tallied eight rushes for 90 yards and one score to close the game with 173 all purpose yards.
LCC had four players with double digit tackles being led by Korth with 12 (seven solo) and two tackles for loss.
