LCC wins home triangular, Wakefield sweeps Wynot

For just the second night all season, a new court was shown off during a home volleyball triangular in Laurel.

From LCC Schools, the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge volleyball team welcomed both Wynot and Wakefield on Thursday.

To open the night, LCC first swept Wynot (25-13, 25-7), followed by Wakefield winning twice over Wynot (25-22, 25-22) as the evening closed with LCC sweeping Wakefield (25-18, 25-15).

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is now 16-2; Wakefield moves to 8-11 as Wynot fell to 7-3.

In the LCC victory over Wynot, sophomore Rena Rasmussen recorded 11 kills, five digs and a block; sophomore Carlie Kvols posted 19 assists, six digs and three kills as senior Tali Erwin led the team in digs with 11 to go along with five kills and a solo block. LCC used a .382 attack percentage.

Sophomore Kaida Eriksen added four kills, five digs and a block; senior Lainey Schutte tallied two kills, nine digs and a block as junior Tyler Recob tacked on one kill, two digs and two blocks (one solo). Other digs came from senior Baylie Graf (three).

Erwin and Schutte both finished with two service aces as Recob had an ace.

During the LCC win against Wakefield, Rasmussen posted a team-high seven digs to go along with nine kills and a solo block; Erwin also had nine kills with four digs as Kvols recorded 19 assists, four digs and one block. LCC finished with a .300 attack percentage.

Recob added two kills and five digs as Schutte tallied one kill, four digs and one block. Other digs came from Eriksen (five) and Graf (four).

  Schutte finished with three service aces, Erwin had two and Eriksen tacked on an ace.

For Wakefield, in their win with Wynot, senior Alli Brown recorded 18 kills and six digs; sophomore Boston Brown posted 22 assists, four digs, two kills and two blocks as junior Ashley Riewer led the team in digs with 13. Wakefield finished with a .326 attack percentage.

Senior Isabella Andrade followed with three kills and seven digs; junior Gracyn Keagle (six digs) and freshman Rihanna Rivera (two digs/one block) both had two kills as sophomore Natalee Nelson tallied one kill, two digs and one block. Other digs came from Ruby Boeckenhauer (two).

Boston Brown used four service aces as Riewer added an ace.

In the Wakefield loss against LCC, Alli Brown recorded six kills and 10 digs; Boston Brown posted eight assists, six digs and one kills as Andrade led the team in digs with 12 to go along with two kills. Wakefield was held to a .217 attack percentage.

Rivera followed with three kills as Keagle has a kill and seven digs. Other digs came from Riewer (two) and Nelson (two).

Boston Brown and Andrade both finished with an ace.
