The Wayne Area Legacy Fund is celebrating a season of community generosity and engagement after successfully completing the Dick and Becky Keidel Gratitude Challenge, installing a new donor recognition display at the Wayne Public Library, and ramping up for an exciting new fundraising event, “Putt for a Purpose,” a mini golf community crawl.
Thanks to the strong support of donors, the Legacy Fund has completed the Gratitude Challenge by raising over $300,000. This will be matched with $100,000 from Dick and Becky Keidel, who initiated the challenge, plus $50,000 from Nebraska Community Foundation.
To recognize that generosity, the Wayne Area Legacy Fund has installed a new digital donor display screen at the Wayne Public Library. The display highlights the individuals, families, and businesses whose contributions make the Legacy Fund’s work possible and serves as a visible reminder of the power of local philanthropy. Visitors can view donor acknowledgments, grant recipients, updates, and information about ongoing initiatives.
In addition, the Legacy Fund has partnered with Wayne America Inc. and invites the community to have some fun through its upcoming “Putt for a Purpose” mini golf crawl. This unique event will combine friendly competition, local businesses and mini-golf-style challenges at participating locations throughout Wayne. Proceeds will directly support the Legacy Fund’s general fund.
The event will be held Saturday, Feb. 28 from 4 to 8 p.m., with registration due Saturday, Feb. 14. Participants can register at https://business.wayneamerica.org/ap/Events/Register/07FMObkIxCwCR.
