A Celebration of Life for Leigh S. Cull, 93, of Wayne, will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 at Hometown Café/ Tacos and More Meeting Room in Wayne.
Private family burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne.
He died Monday, Nov. 11, 2024 at the Nebraska Veterans Home in Norfolk.
Memorials may be directed to the Cull family for later designation.
Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.
Leigh Sylvester Cull was born Oct. 3, 1931, at Oakland to Duncan Kerley and Irene Margaret (Kaul) Cull. After graduating from Craig High School in 1950, he received his bachelor’s degree from Wayne State Teacher’s College. Later receiving his master’s degree from WSTC and a six year certificate from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956.
Leigh began his teaching, coaching and school administrator career in Page, followed by superintendent positions in Belden, Lynch, Leigh, Gretna, Stanton and Morrill Public Schools.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy (Lentz) Cull; son, Clark (Tami) Cull of Council Bluffs, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Barb Cull of Omaha; two grandchildren, Drue Cull and Kayla Cull; nephew, Alan Weeces; and two nieces, Barbara Berlin and Carla Berlin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Duncan and Irene Cull; sons, Paul in 2020 and Dan in 2015; sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Keith Berlin; and brother, Karl Cull.
