Lois M. Harder, 94, of Wayne, formerly of Fremont, died Monday, July 27, 2026.  

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 1 at First United Methodist Church in Wayne. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church in Fremont or Camp Fontenelle.

Lois M. Harder was born Nov. 13, 1931 on the farm in Wayne to Roy and Clara (Ireland) Spahr.  She graduated from Wayne High School in 1949 and attended Metro Tech College.  Lois married Claude Harder on Dec. 24, 1950 in the Methodist Church in Wayne.   They moved to Fremont in 1971.  She was employed in the field of optometry for Dr. Koeber and Dr.  Todd, and did bookkeeping for her husband’s service station.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Altar Guild for 35 years, and the Prayer Wheelers, creating prayer shawls.  She also liked to spend her time knitting and reading.

Survivors include her son, Bradley (Lysie) Harder of Terra Haute, Indiana; daughters, Cinda Brudigam of Wayne, Claudette Jo (Richard) Vroman of Escondido, California, and Tammy (James) Leslie of Kansas City, Missouri; 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Claude; brother, J. LeRoy Spahr; infant twin, Harold; and one great- granddaughter.
