Loretta J. Eddy, 91, of Wayne formerly of Colorado and Washington State, died Monday, March 7, 2022 at Providence Medical Center in Wayne.
Visitation will be Friday, March 11 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wayne with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be in Calhan Memorial Cemetery, Calhan, Colorado.
Memorials may be directed to the Eddy family for later designation.
Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.
Loretta June Eddy was born on June 23, 1930 in Picher, Oklahoma to George Washington Ping and Bertie (Crosby) Ping. Loretta graduated in 1948 from Coolidge High in Coolidge, Kansas. She married Andrew Ralph Eddy on Jan. 19, 1957 in Raton, New Mexico and to this union they were blessed with loving children. Loretta had a passion for God’s word and sharing her faith. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, and cooking.
Survivors include her children, Gail (Roger) Hochstein of Wayne, Beverly (Rusty) Smith of Krum, Texas, Cheryl Parker of Battle Ground, Washington and Rodney (Robin) Eddy of Rayville, Lousiana; a brother, Gerald (Anne) Ping of McLouth, Kansas; a sister, Patricia Storey of Queensland, Australia; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 4 great - great - grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Andrew Ralph Eddy in 2001; daughter, Andrea Eddy; brothers, Little Jr. Ping, Stanley Ping, and Darrel Ping; sisters, Delores Edinburn, Marva Harsh and Sharon Brown.
