Mass of Christian Burial for Lorna M. Loberg, 83, of Wayne will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wayne. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wayne with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne.

Memorials may be directed to Lorna’s family.

Lorna died Monday, Dec. 1, 2025 at her home in Wayne.

Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.

Lorna Morae Loberg was born July 24, 1942 in Sioux City, Iowa to James  Waldon and Olga Enola (Nielsen) Brugger. She attended Wayne County rural school district #24, and then later St. Mary’s School in Wayne before graduating from Wayne High School. Lorna married Raymond Francis Loberg June 20, 1962 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Carroll.  The couple farmed near Carroll and Lorna moved into Wayne in 1993.  

Over the years Lorna was employed as a bookkeeper for Carhart Lumber and then at the First National Bank for 24 years. The next 14 years she worked in the dietary department of Providence Medical Center, before retiring. Lorna was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Carroll and then St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wayne, E.O. T. Club, Way Out Here Club and the Wayne High School Music Boosters.   

 Survivors include her three sons and spouses, Jeffery of Wayne, Brian (Bonnie) of Wayne, and Tim (Lisa) of Hartington; sister, Jeanne (Larry) Lindsay of Wayne; brothers, Harlin  (Carol) Brugger of Winside and Merlin (Connie) Brugger of Winside; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren and one due in May 2026; nieces and nephews.

Preceding Lorna in death were her parents; husband, Ray, in 1990 and one brother, Gerald Brugger.
