Wayne jumped on Yutan/Mead/Ashland-Greenwood early and racked up their seventh straight win Saturday in a 15-8 win at Yutan.

Wayne scored two in the first inning, breaking the ice when Victor Kniesche scored on a wild pitch and Gunnar Jorgensen followed on another wild pitch for a 2-0 lead.

Wayne made it a 5-0 game in the second when the Blue Devils loaded the bases and Trevor DeBoer unloaded them with a double down the line to left, scoring Jacob Kneifl, Kniesche and Jorgensen.

They increased that lead to 6-0 in the third when Bartos advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on an error by the Yutan catcher.

After the hosts picked up a run in the bottom of the third, Wayne scored again when Jorgensen singled home Hagan Miller in the fourth, then broke it wide open in the fifth with three more runs, thanks to RBI singles by Kneifl, Miller and DeBoer.

Yutan put up two in the bottom of the third to make it a 10-3 game, but Wayne put the game out of reach in the top of the seventh, thanks to three bases-loaded walks and RBI singles by Reid Korth and Josh Lutt.

Wayne (11-5) cranked out 14 hits in the win, highlighted by a 3-for-4 day by DeBoer, who drove in five runs in the sin. Miller also had three hits and Kneifl, Bartos and Lutt each had two hits.

Kneifl got the win on the mound, allowing three runs on six hits with seven strikeouts in five innings of work. Drew Buck pitched two innings of relief.

Wayne closes out the regular season at home Monday with a 4:30 p.m. matchup against Arlington at Hank Overin Field.
