One final northeast Nebraska team was in action to close out their 2024 portion of their schedule back on the mat.
From Creighton Preparatory School, the Wayne High boys competed amongst top Class A teams during the 46th annual Tom Dineen Invitational (Creighton Prep Invite).
The Wayne High boys sent 10 wrestlers to finish 14th with 55.5 points.
Among the 19 teams, the host Creighton Prep won with 303 points, Grand Island followed in runner-up (237.5), Lincoln Southeast took third (149.5), Gretna East placed fourth (141) as Papillion-La Vista South rounded out the top five teams with 130.5 points.
Wayne High was led by Grant Maas (150) with a first place finish (25.5 pts). Grant Maas won by decision (7-2) over Michael Furze from Papillion-La Vista in the first place match.
Other points came from Noah Magnuson (132) with nine points, Thomas Raymundo (126) followed with six points, Maddox Ziska (285) added five points, Taven Ocampo (157) tallied four points as Grady Maas (106) and Ty Zach (144) both recorded three points.
Others in action were Ethan Gregory (120), Hunter Foote (138) and Keaton Gregory (215).
